Ascending Grooves and Hopeful Tunes to Elevate Your Mood
Gratitude was conceived conceptually as an opportunity for Lance West to express his appreciation for all that God has done, is doing and will continue to do for eternity.. providing a steady source of inspiration, hope and love. His previous recorded efforts were based on his relationships with people.. but seeing the bigger picture he decided to show respect and love to the very creator of creativity. Which is such a precious gift. God wants us to see how it feels to create.. He loves us that much..
Gratitude was written over an 8 month period between Spring and Winter of 2014 while living with family in Stockton, CA. It took over 160 hours (equivalent to working one month full time) for Lance West to write all the parts for Electric Guitar, Bass, Keyboards and Electric Piano (In the Studio) In the evenings after working full-time with a 2 hour round trip commute.. with the frequent use of light double shots he made it through :0)
Gratitude was recorded in 8 hour sessions on November 22nd, 23rd December 6th, 7th, 19th and mixed on January 10th by Bart Thurber at House of Faith in Oakland, CA (Lance West's 3rd recording with him) The same musicians and friends were utilized also. Gary Niederhoff - Bass (Confidence and Sublime), Benito Cortez - Violin and Phil Romero - Drums and Bass Cajon.. they really gelled in the sessions.. working with these musicians has always been seamless for him.
Lance West's intent is to uplift, nurture and inspire others to persevere despite any obstacles they may face on their path to a better life.. Transcendence starts in our thoughts and the words that come out of our mouths.. we can do it.. LETS GO!!!
